Danny "Greasy" Belcher, Executive Director
Executive Director, Task Force Omega of KY Inc.
Vietnam Infantry Sgt. 68-69
"D" Troop 7th Sqdn. 1st Air Cav.
A similar letter like the one below was also sent to the president from The National Vietnam and Gulf War Veterans Coalition. The National Vietnam and Gulf War Veterans Coalition, VIETNOW, Task Force Omega of KY Inc. and a few others are the only ones who have sent letters like this. I hope other organizations and individuals will use the letter below as an example and start letters to the President and the Seceratary of State from across America from people who care about a live American POW and do not want him abandoned and forgotten.
The address of the president is
1600 Pennsylvania Ave., NW

Dear Secretary Clinton:
Re: Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl, USA
As you know, Private First Class (now Sergeant) Bowe Bergdahl of Hailey, Idaho, was captured by the Taliban in Afghanistan on June 30, 2009. A video released on December 8, 2010 shows Taliban leader Mullah Sangeen Zadran and POW Bowe Bergdahl who has a significant wound on his left cheek. The significance of this video should not be lost on us, Bowe Bergdahl was (is) still alive, he is being held captive and, if he were not considered of value by the Taliban, he would have been executed.
Over two years have transpired since Sgt. Bergdahl was captured and the process of withdrawing our troops from Afghanistan has begun. The continued withdrawal of our troops is indicative of a cessation of hostilities, and at the end of such hostilities, a prisoner exchange has customarily been conducted. Consequently, it is imperative that negotiations for Sgt. Bergdahl’s release should be conducted, otherwise, the Taliban, which is composed of extremists, who would like nothing
better than to humiliate the United States, will consider him of no value as a prisoner. Negotiations to release Bowe Bergdahl must be conducted before any more troops are withdrawn.
The National Vietnam & Gulf War Veterans Coalition, which consists of over 70
veterans and veterans advocacy organizations, having a membership in excess of 250,000, strongly urges you to commence negotiations, in your capacity as Secretary of State, to secure the release of Sergeant Bergdahl from his Taliban captors. We do not want to see a repetition of our servicemen being left behind as they were in Korea and Vietnam. Please focus on the release of Bowe Bergdahl before its too late.
Your attention to our concern is greatly appreciated.
Respectfully,
John J. Molloy
Chairman
