During our recent elections I was honored to be a part of the Natl. Vietnam and Gulf War Veterans Coalitition to endorse and support Tim Moore for Ky. Representative. He has done an excellent job and we are proud of him.

Subject: FW: Resolution to Support the Troops
Danny -
I was very glad to hear from you today, and honored by your words of encouragement. The resolution I introduced was meant to make a clear statement of support for those who continue to serve us all. In a small way it tries to make amends for the short-sightedness of previous generations of political leaders who abandoned our troops in the midst of conflict. We cannot allow that sad history to repeat itself, yet that is exactly what some are attempting to do at the national level.
The following is the e-mail I sent to several folks who would have an interest in this resolution. House Resolution 211 can be accessed at the General Assembly website, but I have attached both the resolution and the press release that I sent out immediately after its passage.
I continue to be endebted to you and all the Patriots who have been supportive as I endeavored to serve in Frankfort. It is truly an honor to stand with and represent those who reflect what is great about America. We are blessed to call this land home, and mutually committed to its lasting liberty.
Sincerely,
Tim Moore
State Representative, 26th District
To all of you who love Freedom -
I thought you might be interested in the resolution to support the troops filed in the Kentucky House of Representatives last week. With no opposition, On March 8th it passed by acclamation.
This resolution unequivocally demonstrates that Kentucky believes in our Armed Forces, and discourages national political leaders from undermining their morale or the national unity necessary to achieve lasting victory. I am convinced that patriotic folks throughout Hardin County (and the rest of America!) would be grateful to realize that here in the Heartland the we stand with the brave men and women who are serving to protect us all. Given the lack of support many of our veterans experienced in the past, it will be a welcome statement that the Kentucky House of Representatives respects America's servicemen and women and is determined to honor veterans who sacrificed on all our behalf.
Please feel free to pass this e-mail on to anyone who might be interested in seeing the men and women of our Armed Forces unequivocally supported.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Resolution Supporting the Armed Forces Passes the House of Representatives
Frankfort, KY, Feb. 27, 2007
Today, the Kentucky House of Representatives unanimously passed House Resolution 211, which unequivocally supports the men and women who serve in the Armed Forces fighting the Global War on Terror.
State Representative Tim Moore (R-Elizabethtown) who sponsored the resolution said, "Support for our troops is half-hearted and hollow if national political leaders belittle the very cause for which they fight. No politically motivated debate should be allowed to undermined troop morale or weaken national resolve."
In recent days, ceremonies were held on the House Floor honoring the families of soldiers who made the greatest sacrifice of all. During this ceremony, each family was presented with a flag and resolutions passed in their loved one's honor. After honoring those fallen heroes, this resolution advocates national unity by demonstrating genuine support for the troops and a belief that they will ultimately prevail in the cause of freedom.
Rep. Moore added, "In passing this formal resolution, the Kentucky House of Representatives voices its ongoing commitment to the truism that United We Stand, Divided We Fall."
A RESOLUTION unequivocally supporting the men and women of the United States Armed Forces in the Global War on Terror.
WHEREAS, the Armed Forces of the United States are currently engaged in a great global war, testing whether this nation, conceived in and dedicated to freedom and liberty, can long endure; and
WHEREAS, the Congress of the United States has opened the most extensive debate over the Global War on Terror in more than four years, causing the valiant members of those Armed Forces to question the veracity of the support they are offered from various national leaders; and
WHEREAS, previous wars have been undermined by unending streams of criticism and doubt from national leaders that demonstrate a lack of resolve to prevail against enemies of the United States; and
WHEREAS, as every Kentuckian knows, "United We Stand, Divided We Fall," and that the lessons of past wars have taught us that actions have consequences which can be harmful to the nation and our service members, causing disunity at home and leading to defeat abroad; and
WHEREAS, many in our country are playing into the hands of the enemy with their rallies and calls for immediate or "phased" redeployment and timetables for withdrawal; and
WHEREAS, public broadcasts of disunity damage the morale of the United States and coalition forces, and undermines the credibility of the United States in the eyes of the rest of the world; and
WHEREAS, national leaders, pressed by the anti-war movement, are once again, during a time of war, considering resolutions and legislation that undermine our national determination to achieve victory and the Commander-in-Chief's ability to prosecute the war; and
WHEREAS, these actions will only prolong the war and serve to provide aid and comfort to the enemy; and
WHEREAS, the intensified chaos sure to ensue in Iraq and elsewhere, subsequent to a premature disengagement, will have dire consequences for the world and our nation; and
WHEREAS, those who dissent are quick to claim that in the United States they have the right to oppose the policies and actions of their government, but it is the brave young men and women of the Armed Forces that are defending this right all the while enduring the effects of dissent and bearing the consequences; and
WHEREAS, more than 137,000 members of the Armed Forces of the United States are currently serving in Iraq and Afghanistan with the bravery and professionalism consistent with the finest traditions of the Armed Forces of the United States, and deserve the support of all Americans; and
WHEREAS, more than 8,500 Kentuckians have previously served in the Global War on Terror and currently more than 2,700 sons and daughters of the Commonwealth are serving in both Iraq and Afghanistan, and deserve the support of all Kentuckians; and
WHEREAS, the sacrifices of these brave young men and women serve to remind us that freedom is not free and that every American has the responsibility to defend that freedom;
NOW, THEREFORE,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:
Section 1. The House of Representatives, in addition to respecting the sacrifices of those honored dead who gave the last full measure of devotion to the cause of freedom, hereby reaffirms its unwavering admiration of and commitment to the men and women of the Armed Forces serving in harm's way and to their ultimate victory in this noble cause.
Section 2. The House of Representatives hereby expresses in word and deed that no purported policy debate should ever be construed to undermine the ability of the Commander-in-Chief of the United States to prosecute a war against the enemies of the United States and achieve real victory and lasting peace.
Section 3. The House of Representatives hereby expresses its belief that because political dialogue can be perceived by friends and foes alike as a sign of wavering in the national will, and inevitably leads to a weakening of the necessary national unity to achieve true victory, no national political leader should undertake to engage in any so-called debate which would undermine America's determination to win the Global War on Terror.
Section 4. The House of Representatives hereby advocates that our national leaders should live up to the sentiment and spirit of President John F. Kennedy's famous words: "Let every nation know, whether it wishes us well or ill, that we shall pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe, to assure the survival and success of liberty."
Section 5. The Clerk of the House of Representatives is hereby directed to transmit a copy of this Resolution to the President of the United States, the President pro tempore of the United States Senate, the Speaker of the United States House of Representatives, and to each member of the Commonwealth of Kentucky's Congressional Delegation.
